"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture to help patients communicate their needs and have a conversation with the doctor. It is very rewarding to help someone who may have had a hard time expressing themselves to be understood."

First and foremost, Erin has prepared her translational utility by acquiring an exceptional and comprehensive fluency in the Spanish language that has been more than appreciated by many of our patients and their families- even those whose second language is English. Erin understands the idiosyncrasies of the Hispanic culture and medical care that may impact those issues because she not only spent a substantial time living in a variety of places in Mexico (for several years at each location), but she has also served as an interpreter, concierge, chaperone, and educator in these positions. She has been the beneficiary of awards for her excellence. Erin is committed not only to Excellence in Health Care, but also to Equity in the Hispanic Culture having served in that capacity and acquired an understanding of the difficulties individuals face negotiating our present health system.

Erin has been awarded Outstanding Employee awards virtually everywhere that she has worked and she therefore fits perfectly with our other outstanding employees whose mission is to serve patients first and foremost. Patient care is our primary concern here at Grand Rapids Cardiology.

Erin has many interesting experiences that have accumulated in her travels, and she is experienced in helping others in a kind quiet manner. Her prior work experience includes jobs at local hospitals, other physician offices, Human Resources, but she has settled here at Grand Rapids Cardiology because she feels she can apply her skills of assisting others in a relaxed atmosphere, often utilizing her Spanish as a comfortable medium to place patients at ease.

Erin is dedicated to solving patient problems so they do not impact and impede the outcome of successful therapy. Erin has devoted her health care preparatory experience to date in order to serve the special needs of patients in ways that other health care providers would ordinarily overlook these minor and major details.
