Marcie Bell, B.S., A.C.S.M. Certified Exercise Specialist

Marcie is the Exercise Physiologist in our practice. She holds a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Calvin College and additional exercise specialist certification through The American College of Sports Medicine. Marcie serves the office as our exercise specialist. She supervises stress tests, writes exercise prescriptions and is the lead educational resource concerning the reduction of cardiovascular risks for Grand Rapids Cardiology.

All of my patients want to be as healthy as they can be – but many aren’t sure how they can best help themselves. That’s where Grand Rapids Cardiology’s Risk Management programs come in; we are an educator, a resource and hopefully a motivator for healthy living.

Marcie supervised in facilitating a Heart Smart for Women program through Loretto Hospital, where she learned the challenges of embracing a healthy lifestyle on a fixed or subsidized budget. This experience equipped Marcie to be an effective advocate for people from all walks of life, and allowed her to gain a perspective for approaching risk reduction from a population perspective.

Through her work as an Exercise Physiologist, Marcie continually looks for ways to promote healthy lifestyles. She is passionate about holistic health care and believes that simple things like becoming more active, eating a balanced diet and practicing moderation will dramatically affect a person’s quality of life. Marcie herself exemplifies these important principles.
